Andrew Pickard is a completely self-taught landscape photographer. Having a keen passion for travel, Andrew enjoys capturing and sharing the sheer beauty and diversity of the world’s playground, including his hometown, Melbourne Australia, through fine art photography.
All of the photographs displayed on this website have been photographed using natural light. The photos capture a wide range of scenery; from the picture perfect Great Barrier Reef, to the concrete jungle that is New York. Incorporating a number of unconventional photography skills, Andrew adds a unique flare to his photographs. By way of example, the photograph featured above is a self-portrait taken from his tripod.
Whilst most people are sound asleep or relaxing at the end of the day, Andrew is patiently waiting for the perfect lighting conditions to capture a photograph which illustrates a location in its most favourable light, usually at sunrise or sunset. In addition to making full use of this golden hour, Andrew loves researching different locations and post production techniques, including colour management, the use of world class cotton rag to display the final product and correct framing and lighting techniques to enhance the print so that each photograph is a work of art that can be a feature in your home.
Andrew’s passion for travelling and capturing perfect moments has driven him to visit amazing places and continues to motivate him to take breathtaking photographs.
